James A. Mages received his Masters of Fine Arts degree from Fort Hays State University and continues to teach Art at Hays High School in Hays, Kansas. Mages has completed work of all scales for an uncountable number of clients throughout the years. His most recent commission, a memorial sculpture in the Dreiling Schmidt Cancer Institute on the Hays Medical Center Campus, is one of his largest to date.
Mages has an immense understanding of many materials and techniques to appropriately convey his vision. This expertise and experience can be seen throughout this website showcasing many of his projects. Mages will work with the clients to successfully create and secure a design, a budget and a timeline for the commission.
James Mages will create an all-inclusive cost estimate based on the complexity of the design, time involvement, consideration of engineering needs and structural needs. This level of completion of the budget helps to allow for a successful project sculpture for both the artist and the client.
